Wall-E

Hunger for Pixar 3d Movies again this is what you’ve waited for.

Wall-E

Synopsis

In the distant future, a small waste collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.

My Review

This 3d animation by PIXAR has a very futuristic approach on what will happen in the near future. The earth was full of garbage and only Wall-E robots are the one who’s piling up our trash. The entire human race is outside the galaxy because earth was too polluted to live. All the people are fat and they do not have any idea what surrounds them because they keep on chatting and eating meals in a cup. Their chairs are automated and most of their assistants are high-tech robots. When Eve was sent to the planet earth to search for a life force such as plant the love-story of Wall-E(Wally) and Eve(E-vah) began should I continue the story? No, of course you should see them for yourself. Surely you will still enjoy this movie.

Meet Dave

This movie drives you crazy with laughter.

Meet Dave

Synopsis

A crew of miniature aliens operate a spaceship that has a human form. While trying to save their planet, the aliens encounter a new problem, as their ship becomes smitten with an Earth woman (Banks).

My Review:

From the start of the money you seem to burst with laughter when Eddie Murphy makes funny faces in imitating the earthlings. As the captain of the human spaceship. He should run the space ship nice and slow until a widow bumped their space ship with her car. Will he able to save his planet and destroy ours? Or he and his crew will just leave us alone? What you should expect in this movie will not be a waste for sure that it will bring you to out of this world experience and make you remember that little things can make a big difference :) .

Payday

It’s been 2 weeks since I started training on web design and graphics at CubePixels. It’s a very nice and wonderful experience and I learned so many things in my two weeks of training such as how should web 2.0 webpages should look and debugging css codes. As a benefit for my effort and training, today is the payday of my allowance. Eventhough its not that big, it will help me to keep on going until the next few weeks then after then I hope I will be then absorbed by the company. I should save and spend my money wisely so that if ever rainy days come. I have something to pull out from my pocket.

Synopsis

Donna’s senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, though a sadistic killer from her past has different plans for her and her friends.

The killing is fun for it shows how brutally the victim was killed. The suspense is a no no. It doesn’t chill me to the bone. The story is fine. Overall analysis don’t waste your time watch it online.

Rainy Days on Wednesday

It’s funny how it seems as I woke up this morning from a short nap. I looked outside the see through glass of the internet cafe and realized it was raining. Due to the coldness atmosphere of the cafe environment, it somehow has no difference between outside and inside temperature and its shivering cold. :) I stood up from the line of monoblock chairs where I was lying. After I had washed my face, I stop by a convenience store to buy a dumpling for my breakfast, then headed straight to work and surprisingly realized that it was too early. I decided then to take a bath there for there are still no people around emoticon. After I took my bath, the office was already open and as usual, wash the cups where my busy bosses live it there yesterday for its too late already. So, as a coffee lover I washed the cups and have some coffee finish for my breakfast. It’s time to work. Rainy Days are Lazy Days. Most of my co-workers arrived late hehehe. Good thing that I have a human alarm clock who will waggle me to wake up.

Searching For A New Home

It’s been almost 1 and a half month since I left my boarding house. It’s odd but the landlady was very kind, if not for her I maybe sleeping on the streets. But after a few months I hardly find a nice job. There is a job but the compensation is not clear. That’s why I stop and go for about 4 months. Searching for my new home and renting new house is like finding a job. I walked in a local town and most of the rooms are not good. Most of them have the same price but has a great difference in neatness and accessibility. At last I found one, conveniently near my workplace and my hang-outs :) .

Web 2.0

The evolution of designing a web has evolved. From the more complex to simple and clean. That’s what I described about what Web 2.0 is. As we all know most of the websites uses this design approach.

Definition

As Tim O’Reilly define.

Web 2.0 technology encourages lightweight business models enabled by syndication of content and of service and by ease of picking-up by early adopters.

O’Reilly provided examples of companies or products that embody these principles in his description of his four levels in the hierarchy of Web 2.0-ness:

  • Level-3 applications, the most "Web 2.0"-oriented, only exist on the Internet, deriving their effectiveness from the inter-human connections and from the network effects that Web 2.0 makes possible, and growing in effectiveness in proportion as people make more use of them. O’Reilly gave as examples eBay, Craigslist, Wikipedia, del.icio.us, Skype, dodgeball, and AdSense.
  • Level-2 applications can operate offline but gain advantages from going online. O’Reilly cited Flickr, which benefits from its shared photo-database and from its community-generated tag database.
  • Level-1 applications operate offline but gain features online. O’Reilly pointed to Writely (now Google Docs & Spreadsheets) and iTunes (because of its music-store portion).
  • Level-0 applications work as well offline as online. O’Reilly gave the examples of MapQuest, Yahoo! Local, and Google Maps (mapping-applications using contributions from users to advantage could rank as "level 2").

Non-web applications like email, instant-messaging clients, and the telephone fall outside the above hierarchy.

Characteristics

Web 2.0 websites allow users to do more than just retrieve information. They can build on the interactive facilities of "Web 1.0" to provide "Network as platform" computing, allowing users to run software-applications entirely through a browser. Users can own the data on a Web 2.0 site and exercise control over that data. These sites may have an "Architecture of participation" that encourages users to add value to the application as they use it. This stands in contrast to very old traditional websites, the sort which limited visitors to viewing and whose content only the site’s owner could modify. Web 2.0 sites often feature a rich, user-friendly interface based on Ajax, openlaszlo, Flex or similar rich media. The sites may also have social-networking aspects.

The concept of Web-as-participation-platform captures many of these characteristics. Bart Decrem, a founder and former CEO of Flock, calls Web 2.0 the "participatory Web"and regards the Web-as-information-source as Web 1.0.

The impossibility of excluding group-members who don’t contribute to the provision of goods from sharing profits gives rise to the possibility that rational members will prefer to withhold their contribution of effort and free-ride on the contribution of others.

According to Best, the characteristics of Web 2.0 are: rich user experience, user participation, dynamic content, metadata, web standards and scalability. Three further characteristics that Best did not mention about web 2.0: openness, freedom and collective intelligence by way of user participation – all should be viewed as essential attributes of Web 2.0.

So u have the overview on what Web 2.0 is. As for my own definition it is, accesible, fast loading, eye cooler, clean, organized, simplicity but not sacrificing quality.

Some of the top web 2.0 design websites which u may view to familiarize what i mean is in CSSMania.

Here are my Web 2.0 Web Sample. (It’s just a sample)
